After your PRP injection session, you can expect to see results in as little as one week. You may experience some swelling and redness around the injection site immediately after treatment, which is normal and expected. These symptoms should subside within two days. For the best results, you’ll want to:
Be sure to drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet.
Avoid exercising for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
Apply cold packs or ice to the area of injection a few times a day for 15 minutes until the treated area heals. This will help reduce any swelling that may occur.
Be careful not to touch your treated area at all until it’s healed completely, even if there’s no visible swelling! Touching can cause more bruising and irritation on top of what already exists from the injection itself. Meaning this will only delay healing time further while increasing risk of infection as well.
