HOW WE TREAT CELLULITE IN MISSISSAUGA & WATERLOO

Cellulite is the dimpled skin that shows up most often on the thighs, buttocks and abdomen. It forms when fat presses up against the connective tissue under the skin while that tissue pulls down, leaving an uneven surface. It is very common, it is not a sign of poor health, and it affects people at every body weight.

Derma Secret treats cellulite by working on what sits underneath it — the fat, and the firmness of the skin above it. Three treatments do that:

  • BodyFX — non-surgical body contouring that targets unwanted fat and tightens the skin at the same time. Used on the abdomen, waist, hips and thighs.
  • Morpheus8 — microneedling combined with radiofrequency, which heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and firm the area. Commonly used on the buttocks.
  • Lipolysis Injections — injections that break down small, localised pockets of fat in a specific area.

Which one suits you depends on how much of the concern is fat and how much is skin laxity, and often the answer is a combination. That is what the consultation is for, and the consultation is free.

Morpheus8 is the treatment most often used on the buttocks, firming the skin to soften the look of dimpling.

IS CELLULITE TREATMENT RIGHT FOR YOU?

Cellulite treatment is a good fit for someone with mild to moderate dimpling who wants smoother, firmer-looking skin. It is not a weight-loss treatment, and it is not designed for very severe cellulite.

Cellulite has more to do with how your skin and connective tissue are built than with anything you have done. It commonly follows:

  • Pregnancy
  • Weight gain
  • Diet
  • Genetics
  • Hormones

At your consultation we look at the area, talk through what is realistic, and recommend the treatment that fits — or tell you honestly if we do not think one will help.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Results build gradually rather than appearing after one session, and both treatments are usually recommended as a short course rather than a single visit. How many sessions you need depends on the area and on your skin, so we set that out at your consultation.

Results are not permanent. Skin continues to age and change, and most clients return for maintenance. We would rather tell you that up front than have you expect otherwise.

AFTERCARE TIPS

After your treatment it is worth looking after the area so the result holds. A few things that help:

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine for the first 24 hours.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Avoid tanning until the treated area has fully recovered.
  • Keep your weight and activity level steady — this matters more than anything else on this list.

Do you offer a dedicated cellulite machine?
No. We treat cellulite with BodyFX, Morpheus8 and lipolysis injections, which work on the fat and the skin firmness underneath the dimpling rather than on the dimpling alone.

How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the area and on your skin. Both treatments are normally recommended as a course rather than a single session, and we set out the number at your consultation.

Is it surgical, and is there downtime?
Neither treatment is surgical. Most clients return to normal activity the same day, though the treated area can look red or feel tender for a short time.

Do you treat cellulite at both locations?
Please confirm availability for your preferred treatment when you book — we run clinics in Mississauga and Waterloo.

Is the consultation really free?
