Long-term reduction of unwanted hair, at our Mississauga and Waterloo medical spas. Free consultation with a nurse or beauty specialist.
Laser hair removal at Derma Secret is a medical-spa treatment that reduces unwanted hair long term on the face, legs, back, arms and underarms. We perform it at both of our Ontario clinics — Mississauga, on Millcreek Drive near Meadowvale, and Waterloo, on Erb Street East. Every course starts with a free consultation, where a nurse or beauty specialist assesses your skin and hair type and tells you how many sessions you are likely to need before you commit to anything.
In the treatment itself, the technician applies a cooling gel to protect your skin, then uses a hand-held device that emits pulses of light to target the hair root. Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment in the follicle, which is why your skin tone and hair colour change how many sessions you need — and why the assessment comes first.
Reasons clients across Mississauga and Waterloo choose it:
Stop fighting stubble on your shins. A course of sessions reduces leg hair long term, so you are not shaving twice a week.
Smoother arms and underarms, without the regrowth cycle that waxing leaves you in.
Back hair is awkward to reach and awkward to wax. Laser treats the whole area evenly, in sessions that take minutes.
Facial hair is delicate work. We treat it at low, carefully set energy after assessing your skin tone at the consultation.
Laser hair removal suits people who are tired of how quickly body hair grows back and want to stop managing it week to week. If shaving, waxing or threading is not holding, it is worth an assessment.
It is not right for everyone. Certain skin and hair combinations respond poorly, and it is not advised during pregnancy. That is what the free consultation is for — we would rather tell you it is not the right treatment than sell you a course that will not work.
Hair grows in cycles, so results build over a course rather than appearing after one visit. Most clients see a noticeable reduction in regrowth within the first few sessions, and the interval between sessions is set for you at your consultation. The results below are our own clients’, published with their consent.

Laser hair removal is priced by treatment area — an underarm course and a full-leg course are not the same job, and the number of sessions depends on your skin and hair type. For that reason we quote your price at the free consultation, once we have assessed the area, rather than publishing a flat rate that would be wrong for most people.
The consultation costs nothing and carries no obligation. Current package offers are on our promotions page.

Our Mississauga clinic on Millcreek Drive is a short drive from Meadowvale, Streetsville, Erin Mills and Oakville, and clients travel to us from across Brampton and west Toronto. Our Waterloo clinic on Erb Street East is minutes from uptown Waterloo and serves clients from Kitchener and Cambridge.
Both clinics are part of the same practice, run the same protocols and are staffed by the same team, so the treatment you get does not depend on which one you book. See the Mississauga clinic or see the Waterloo clinic.
After you’ve completed your laser hair treatment, here are some tips for how to take care of your skin as it heals:
Keep the area clean. If you’re using a scab-forming cream or gel, cleanse the treated area with warm water and mild soap before applying the cream or gel again. This will help to prevent infection and keep your skin healthy.
Avoid picking at scabs or irritation that forms around the area where you’ve had your laser hair treatment performed.
Avoid sun exposure on areas where you’ve had a laser hair removal procedure performed until after healing has finished completely (usually about two weeks). Sun exposure can damage newly formed skin cells and cause scarring or discoloration of the area treated
The typical duration of laser hair treatment lasting is between 4 to 6 weeks. The number of treatments you need depends on your skin colour and hair colour. Our team will be able to tell you how many treatments you need, as well as when to schedule them.
Laser hair removal does not hurt as much as you might think it would. The laser energy used during the procedure has been designed to target only the dark pigments in your hair follicles, but not your skin cells. Therefore, there are no painful burning sensations when being treated for unwanted facial or body hair.
However, if you are exposed to direct sunlight after treatment for too long, there is a chance that it could burn your skin slightly and cause redness like sunburn or even slight blisters if left untreated for several days afterwards!
It would be ideal to avoid laser hair removal during pregnancy. While there are no known cases of adverse effects from laser hair removal on pregnant women, it’s still better to be safe than sorry.
Laser hair removal does not last forever, but it lasts longer than shaving and waxing. After a series of treatments, most people see less hair growth. If you keep up with maintenance sessions every few months, you can maintain your results for a longer period of time.
Both of them. We perform laser hair removal at our Mississauga clinic (6981 Millcreek Drive, 2nd Floor, Unit 20) and at our Waterloo clinic (55 Erb Street East, Floor 1, Unit 113). The two clinics open on different days — Mississauga on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Waterloo on Thursday — so check the hours for the location you want before you travel.
It depends on the treatment area and on how many sessions your skin and hair type will need, so we do not publish a single price. You get a firm quote at your free consultation, before you commit to anything. Current package offers are listed on our promotions page.
It varies. Hair grows in cycles and a laser only affects follicles in the active phase, which is why the treatment is done as a course rather than a single visit. How many sessions you need depends on the area, your hair colour and your skin tone — a nurse or beauty specialist assesses this at your free consultation and gives you a realistic number before you start.
Yes, and it is free. We assess your skin and hair type, confirm laser hair removal is the right treatment for you, and set out how many sessions to expect. There is no obligation to book afterwards. You can request one from our contact page or by calling the clinic you would like to visit.
