F.A.Q ABOUT IPL THERAPY

What is IPL therapy?

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. It’s a type of light therapy that uses short, intense pulses of light to treat skin damage and stimulate collagen production. The treatment delivers a highly concentrated beam of light that penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate new collagen production.

Does IPL photofacial hurt?

Most patients report little or no discomfort during an IPL photofacial treatment. However, some patients may experience a mild burning sensation during the procedure as their skin adjusts to the intense pulse of light energy being delivered.

What to expect after IPL photofacial?

After the photofacial, you may experience some redness and peeling similar to a sunburn. It’s important to keep your skin protected from the sun for at least one week after treatment. You can use sunscreen or cover clothing during this time.

Peeling will start within 2-3 days after treatment and continue for about a week. You may use mineral makeup or a very light foundation during this period but should avoid heavier textured makeup until peeling is complete.

It’s normal if you have some swelling of your treated areas for up to 10 days after treatment. This will reduce over time as your body heals itself.
