AFTERCARE TIPS

After your Botox injection is completed, you can expect to have some bruising and swelling. While this is normal, it’s important to take certain precautions to reduce inflammation and ensure that you’re healing properly. You’ll want to:

  1. Gently stretching your face should help reduce inflammation and relieve tension in the muscles.

  2. It’s important to give your body time to relax after Botox treatment so your muscles can heal properly and reduce any risk of swelling or bruising.

  3. Avoid stressful situations or activities that could increase your heart rate too much, like exercise or hot showers/baths.

  4. Be careful not to touch your treated area at all until it’s healed completely, even if there’s no visible swelling! Touching can cause more bruising and irritation on top of what already exists from the injection itself. Meaning this will only delay healing time further while increasing risk of infection as well.

  5. Leave the treated area alone until it heals completely (usually within 72 hours after injection).

F.A.Q

Where does Botox® come from?

Botox comes from the botulinum toxin, which is created by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It’s an FDA-approved temporary cosmetic treatment that can help with wrinkle reduction. The botulinum toxin blocks the nerve signals that cause wrinkling, which temporarily smooths the skin.

Does Botox® have long term effects?

Typically, Botox does not have long-term effects. It’s a non-surgical treatment option that can be completed by a nurse injector at a Medical Spa.

How long does the Botox® take to work?

A Botox injection can take three to seven days to take full effect. After the injection, you will likely notice that your wrinkles are less visible immediately after the treatment. However, it will take a few days for your skin to relax and for the full effects of the injections to be seen.

Where can you get Botox® on your face?

Botox can help treat frown lines between the eyebrows, wrinkles around the eyes, and lines on the forehead among other little things.

Do Botox® injections hurt?

The short answer is: not really. There might be some discomfort, but most patients believe the injection is not painful. It’s true that Botox injections can be uncomfortable, but most patients find that the discomfort is minimal.

Does Botox® work on everyone?

Yes, Botox can work on everyone that is an ideal candidate. However, you should speak with one of our team members before you decide to get it done. We’ll help you determine what is the right dosage for your body type and skin tone, as well as whether or not Botox is right for you at all.
